The Building Engineering Services Association is the UK's leading trade organisation for building engineering services contractors – representing the interests of firms active in the design, installation, commissioning, maintenance, control and management of engineering systems and services in buildings.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Based either from home, the London office (Rotherwick House) or a flexible hybrid of the home and London office.
Reporting to the Director of Membership, the main purpose of this role is to retain and grow the membership of BESA through active engagement with current and potential members including:
- Develop and implement a business plan for sustainable membership growth in the region
- Identify opportunities to acquire new members and generate qualified leads maintaining a healthy sales pipeline
- Convert inbound leads from various streams generated by BESA initiatives with a sense of urgency
- Develop and implement a plan to actively encourage member engagement and participation
- Develop relationships and implement account development plans with identified major members (influential and core member companies)
- Promote and sell BESA Group benefits, services and products to maximise value for the member and grow revenue for BESA
- Provide on-going communication and relevant information to members that encourages retention
- Support existing members in the region by promoting benchmarking, best practice and associated BESA initiatives and services
- Promote the BESA Academy regionally
- Co-operate with the Customer Success Team to support on-boarding new members and ensure a seamless member experience across the membership in the region
- Collaborate with the Member Engagement Manager to deliver high quality regional events and meetings either face-to-face or on-line
- Work closely with the BESA technical team to create opportunities for the adoption of BESA standards and specifications in the sector
- Work closely with the SFG20 team to help promote and demonstrate the BESA Service and Facilities specifications and standard maintenance schedules
- Create and facilitate networking opportunities for our members with main contractors and end users to promote the selection of BESA members (audited and accredited)
- Provide regular reports and information on the state of the market
- Contribute to the accuracy of the current member database through consistent updating of the CRM system
- Manage budget and ROI as appropriate in support of national and regional initiatives and activities
COMPETENCIES
- Sales and account management experience
- Excellent networking and relationship building skills
- Sound commercial understanding
- Business development experience in a B2B environment able to develop client focussed strategies and solutions
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Experience of delivering key objectives and business development targets
- Excellent organisational and planning skills
- Knowledge of building engineering services, the construction industry and contracting sector
